FIRE CREWS were called to tackle a blaze in a semi-detached home in Winchester last night.
The blaze started in the kitchen of the house in Imber Road in the Winnal area of the city just after 10pm.
Fire fighters from Winchester and Eastleigh were called to the fire which caused heavy smoke and heat damage to the property.
Crews were at the scene for nearly two hours and a fire service spokeswoman said so far it is not known how the fire started.
One man was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure by South Central Ambulance but no one was seriously injured in the fire.
