HUNDREDS of people lined the sun-soaked streets of Hedge End on Saturday to enjoy the village's ever-popular annual carnival.
Residents gathered to admire a spectacular procession of brightly coloured floats accompanied by the beat of a marching band, beeping horns, whistles and cheers.
Spectators could not miss the influence of the World Cup but other float themes included Guys and Dolls, Alice in Wonderland and healthy eating.
A gala show and fun fair was held at Greta Park, with entertainment including the Eastleigh Town Band, Punch and Judy and the K9 KOS Dog Display Team.
This year's Carnival Queen was 15-year-old Gracie Douglas and helping her in her reign were attendants Hannah Gardener and Holly Lawrence.
The Princess was Megan King and Lewis Baverstock was Hedge End's first ever Carnival Prince.
The event is a long standing village tradition with the first ever Hedge End Carnival held in 1921.
