A GAS company has been accused of failing to sort out its repair work after digging up one of the main routes into Southampton for the tenth time in just four years.
Frustrated motorists were left gridlocked in three-mile long queues during yesterday morning’s rush hour because of repairs being carried out on the A35 Redbridge Causeway.
Now Southampton’s transport boss Councillor Matthew Dean has demanded answers from gas chiefs about the latest round of repairs.
Cllr Dean vowed to see whether there was any way the persistent gas problems can be resolved long-term.
“There have been continuous problems over the years,”
he said.
