A DRIVER crashed her new car through a brick wall yesterday - narrowly missing a pedestrian.
The 50-year-old lost control of the £11,000 Ford Fusion which smashed thorough a wall in Millbrook, Southampton narrowly missing a man on the other side.
Kevin Wain was just a few yards away as the car mounted the pavement by the mini-roundabout in Wimpson Lane, narrowly avoiding a tree before hitting the wall which surrounds flats near the Tesco Express store.
Reacting quickly Kevin, 28, pulled the woman from the car as smoke began to pour out and got her to safety. The woman suffered shock but was otherwise uninjured and did not require hospital treatment.
Kevin said: “I was texting on my phone. She’s just come straight across the roundabout and through the wall. I was stood right next to it at the time.
“I feel lucky to be alive. If she had hit the tree and come my side of the wall she would have taken me out.
“It was a big old bang. It ended up the other side of the fence next to me.”
