Body found in river
AN investigation is underway today after a body was found floating in a Hampshire river.
Police are trying to establish the identity of the man and how he died after the grim discovery was made close to Northam Bridge in Southampton A Marine Unit vessel was dispatched to the River Itchen after a passer-by spotted the body and dialled 999.
The police team was supported by a crew from Hamble Lifeboat station when the drama unfolded at 3pm yesterday.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
