A HAMPSHIRE postman is set to take delivery of £500 after coming to the aid of a sick pensioner.
Fareham postie Paul Izzards was on his rounds when he came across a 94-year-old man who had collapsed during his daily stroll.
After instructing a passer-by to dial 999, Paul helped get the patient home where he made a full recovery.
Now, the community-spirited act has earned him victory in the regional round of the Royal Mail 1st Class People Award.
A London final will take place later this month when the national ‘Postman of the Year’ will be announced.
