A BOY of 12 escaped with leg injuries after being involved in a hit and run with a car in Southampton today.
The youngster, who was dressed in school uniform, was in collision with the blue vehicle, thought to be a Nissan, as he crossed Bitterne Road West at around 4.15pm.
The car was heading towards the city centre and stopped briefly outside Pizza Roma before continuing towards Southampton.
The boy suffered a broken leg and toes. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance but has since been released.
Police would like to contact the driver of the blue Nissan which they believe has dents in a door and have also appealed for witnesses that may have seen the collision.
Anyone with information should contact PC Sue Brown at Bitterne Police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
