THIS YEAR is seeing more new cars being launched than ever before, averaging more than four every week and you can see a good selection of them at this weekend's Wheels Motor Show.
Rather than wasting costly fuel trekking around the county to see what catches your eye and meets your needs and budget, we bring the cars together at one central location.
The Wheels Motor Show is at its regular site at the University Playing Fields, Eastleigh, just off Junction 5 of the M27 and across the road from the Parkway (airport) railway station.
With 16 different makes from Chevrolet to Vauxhall alphabetically there will be lots of new models to see side by side.
For example Hamble Motors will have no fewer than 14 cars from the Peugeot range including four different versions of the smart new 207.
In this week's heatwave the convertibles are certain to be a major draw and while they used to be few and far between most manufacturers now offer a choice with secure folding hard-top cabriolet coupes and you can see how easy they are to operate.
But over the past year fuel economy has once again come to the fore as pump prices soared and if you haven't changed your car in three years you'll be amazed at the savings to be made.
If you want performance and economy, then you will also want to check out the latest diesel variants.
Remember too to check out the different vehicle excise (tax disc) bands, which again can bring savings.
Then there's the biggest saving of all human life. Check out the Euro NCAP ratings to travel in maximum safety.
The Wheels Motor Show is open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday. Admission FREE.
