SIX people were rescued in the Solent today after their outrigger canoe capsized this afternoon.
The outrigger capsized in one of the main shipping channels, with the crew clinging on to the upturned boat.
Two of the crewmembers attempted to repair the outrigger but were unsuccessful.
Hamble lifeboat managed to take the crew on board whilst RNLI Calshot retrieved the canoe, outrigger and personal belongings and both rescue boats returned the crew and broken vessel to Calshot.
The crew were assessed by South Central Ambulance Service but were allowed home without treatment.
