A TRIATHLON with a difference is being planned in Winchester to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event, dubbed ‘Pedal, Paddle, Pace’, is being held at 11am on Sunday, July 18, and is slightly different to a standard triathlon.
While a 20km cycle and 5km run are planned, instead of a lengthy swim, competitors will have to kayak for 2km along the River Itchen.
Race control will be at Palmer Field on the southern edge of the city centre, beside the river, while the event’s running and cycling routes will take in some medieval and rural sights.
Entry costs £30 per person, or £60 for a team of three tackling each stage of the triathlon in a relay.
The closing date to register for the triathlon is Sunday, July 4.
