No maiden voyage visit to city for Allure of the Seas Royal Caribbean’s new super cruise ship, Allure of the Seas, will not be visiting Southampton as part of her maiden voyage, the Daily Echo can confirm.
There had been hopes the sister ship to Oasis, the world’s largest cruise ship, would visit Southampton after leaving the shipyard in Finland where she is under construction.
Last October Oasis of the Seas called into the Solent to drop off crew. She did not come into port but still thousands of people lined the shoreline in an attempt to see her and many small boats took to the water for a better look.
Royal Caribbean’s Jo Rzymowska acting managing director, UK, confirmed Allure of the Seas would not visit Southampton as her central garden feature could not be added until she reached the waters of the Caribbean.
