A COURT has awarded a high-flying lawyer almost £1m in compensation for injuries she suffered in a car crash that claimed the life of a Hampshire mum.
Solicitor Estelle Clarke was a passenger in the car being driven by her then partner Colin Maltby when he collided head-on with the car of estate agent and mother-of-one Karen Hobbs, who died at the scene.
Her family’s compensation claim resulted in a £15,000 payout.
Mrs Clarke was awarded her sum after a court heard how she continued to suffer from post traumatic stress and psychiatric symptoms as a result of head injuries, preventing her from continuing a high achieving career in a London legal firm.
