POLICE are hunting two men after a pair of Southampton residents were allegedly robbed at gunpoint in their city centre home.
Armed police swooped on the house in Carlton Road last night following a report that a 21-year-old man suffered head injuries after being assaulted by a firearm.
The victim was inside the address with a 22-year-old woman when it's alleged they were confronted by two other men who had entered the property without permission.
Police say the woman was not injured and initial inquiries at the scene established the 21-year-old man’s injuries were not caused by a shooting.
The man received medical treatment for a cut to his head at the scene and was not taken to hospital.
Armed police contained the house as a precaution from 8.19pm last night before standing down shortly before 9.50pm.
A search of the address was carried out for further evidence.
Forensic, house-to-house and CCTV inquiries continue to trace the two suspects.
