BABY swimming lessons in Hampshire are continuing to make a splash after scooping a national award for the third year running.

As previously reported in Mum About Town, Water Babies had been nominated for the prestigious What’s On 4 2010’ award in the category of ‘Best National Baby & Toddler Development Activity’ award.

At the London ceremony, the Water Babies franchise that runs classes across the county won the award and Ali Pountney and Angela Trodd who both teach in Southampton and Winchester picked up the award from BBC presenter Mister Maker.

Alli said: “We’re just overwhelmed by the amazing response of all our clients in voting for us.

“To have won this national award again totally reflects on the dedication of the whole Water Babies team. As parents ourselves, we appreciate this is one of the most magical times in people’s lives, so work incredibly hard to enhance it. We’re so grateful to all our fantastic clients for taking the time to vote for us.”

Water Babies’ uniquely structured programme, designed to make the most of babies’ natural affinity with water, teaches water confidence and safety techniques from birth.

Steve and Jo Tolley have been running Water Babies classes in Lymington since 2008 and, together with a team of 3, now teaches over 500 babies and children every week, and said they, too, were thrilled at the award.

Jo said: “I’m delighted that Water Babies has been recognised in this way, especially as we’re the only swimming company to have won four national awards in the last three years.”
