A HUGE deal is set to boost Hampshire's position on the aviation map.
Southampton International Airport's main carrier Flybe has just sealed a £3.3bn deal to buy 140 Embraer E Series Aircraft.
As well as 35 confirmed orders, the agreement gives them on option to up the order by 105 in the future.
This new fleet will help the firm's expansion throughout Europe.
The first aircraft is due to arrive in September next year with the final scheduled delivery being made in March 2017.
Jim French CBE, Flybe Chairman and Chief Executive said: "We are securing an aircraft that fits with our stated aim of furthering our position as the leading regional airline in Europe."
