ONE in three women taking part in this year's Race for Life on Southampton will not send in their sponsorship money.
The depressing fact means hundreds of thousands of pounds is failing to make its way from the city.
Race for Life organiser Lorna Glanfield hopes this year will be different.
"We need everyone who took part to remember what the event was all about "I want the women to remember little Olivia who was diagnosed with leukaemia at five weeks old and who came on stage with her mum Katie at the start of the race.
"You've done the race but now the important work of gathering the money starts," she said.
Organisers are hoping to top £600,000 this year and that money will help to pay for crucial work by Cancer Research UK.
