TWO people have been arrested after the death of a three-month-old baby in Hampshire, police said today.
The baby boy was discovered not breathing in a flat in Hillsley Road, Paulsgrove, Portsmouth. He was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital by ambulance but died shortly after.
The child was pronounced dead at about 5.30am on Sunday October 10.
A 21-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man from Paulsgrove have been arrested in connection with the death, according to Hampshire police. They have been bailed until December 8.
A police spokeswoman said: "Hampshire Constabulary can confirm that officers from the specialist investigations department are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a baby from Paulsgrove, Portsmouth.
"The hospital contacted police and an investigation was launched."
The spokeswoman refused to comment on whether the couple were known to police or social services.
