PLANS to move a Southampton landmark to a new home have been delayed again.
Calshot Spit lightship, which is one of the last of its kind, is due to be taken from its home of the last 20 years outside the entrance to Ocean Village, and repositioned at the historic Trafalgar Dry Dock.
The 140-tonne vessel was due to be moved on Wednesday, but the operation has been postponed because of difficulties getting the two huge cranes needed to lift her.
It had originally been intended that the 95-year-old ship would be in her new home, directly adjacent to the £19m Ocean Terminal, by the early summer.
Council bosses are now in talks to arrange a new date for the move, which is being paid for by developers Barratt Homes, which is building luxury flats at the Ocean Village marina site.
