THERE are just days left for parents to have their say on plans to expand up to 19 Southampton primary schools.
The city council wants to create nearly 3,000 new places for pupils in the next eight years to avert a crisis in the system, which has led to fears some children could be turned away from schools.
Southampton’s reception classes are already at bursting point, and the plans to expand infant, junior and primary schools across the city follow a move last year to begin enlarging ten schools in the city centre and Freemantle areas.
Head teachers have already given their views on the plans, but a consultation has been running for parents and residents, with drop-in information sessions at affected schools.
Public responses will be used to help shape the final plans, which are then expected to be put forward for a second consultation early in the new year, but all feedback must be sent to the council by Tuesday.
