A CHIILDREN’S day nursery in Ampfield must work with Test Valley planning officers to find ways to reduce noise levels on outside decking.
It follows Test Valley’s southern area members’ decision to defer Yellow Dot Nursery’s retrospective planning application to retain decking at its Deer Park Court home after hearing a neighbour’s concerns about noise from youngsters and adults using the facility, which is close to a private garden at Ratlake Farm.
Bosses at Yellow Dot Nursery had been advised by the borough’s environment and health department that a 10ft high fence along the neighbouring property would help reduce noise emitted from the decking area but councillors felt the structure would be too high.
After debating the issue councillors decided to defer the application to allow officers and Yellow Dot to seek a way around the problem.
