Fareham welcomed a royal visitor this afternoon.
Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal had the honour of opening a new hospital and a sixth form college centre in the town.
Princess Anne first arrived at Fareham Community Hospital in Sarisbury Green, where she met staff and patients as she took a tour of the multi-million pound facility.
She spent 40 minutes viewing the state-of-the-art building, watching patient Derek Janes having an x-ray and Amelia Christy in physiotherapy.
After the tour she unveiled a plaque to mark the official opening of the hospital before meeting six-year-old Chloe Garrett, who presented her with flowers.
Next she was whisked off to Fareham College, where she spoke with students studying for their A-Levels at the new sixth form centre.
Drama students showcased a special performance for the Princess, before unveiling a plaque in the Mall.
