ORGANISERS of Southampton’s biggest and brightest firework display have urged people to book their tickets now.

Advance tickets are now on sale for the impressive £10,000 firework extravaganza, backed by the Daily Echo, which promises to light up Southampton skies for Guy Fawkes night celebrations.

The annual event organised by the Southampton Round Table No 4 club raises cash for charities across Hampshire.

These include Radio Lollipop, children’s bereavement service Simon Says,Well Being, Fairbridge Solent, Southampton Christmas Café and Southampton and Isle of Wight Youth Options.

Thousands of people are set to flock to Mayflower Park to watch the sky light up with colour for the magical festivities and organisers have warned people should book now so they are not disappointed.

The event takes place on Saturday, November 6 and promises to be bigger and better than ever before with the recruitment of new company Komodo Fireworks, of Southampton, which will coordinate the dramatic display from a shipping barge in the water.

One of the organisers Steve Badger expects a bumper crowd of 5,000 people set to be wowed by the display.

He said: “Word is now getting around the city regarding this year’s Round Table fireworks extravaganza where a huge feast of colour and will fill the night sky with the best effects the city has ever seen.

“Ticket sales are going crazy and the organisers, whose phones have not stopped ringing, are urging people to buy their tickets nowto save disappointment.”

As part of an afternoon of events at Mayflower Park, rides from Coles funfair will be running from 2pm to entertain families in the build up to the evening’s spectacular display which starts at 7.15pm from a Williams shipping barge.

Admission costs £4 for adults and £2 for children.

Children under three go free.

Tickets can be bought in advance from the Daily Echo shop in Hanover Buildings or Southampton Tourist Information Office.
