FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire at a Southampton hospital at the weekend.
Five appliances from Redbridge and St Mary’s fire stations were called out at 12.55am on Sunday to the Western Community Hospital, in Walnut Grove, Shirley, where the alarm was sounding.
Officers found a small fire caused by a faulty light fitting in a toilet in the Taplin’s block. A faulty light fitting is thought to have caused it. Burning plastic caused smoke damage.
No patients were evacuated.
