A YOUNG thief got more than he bargained for after stealing a sat nav from a delivery van.
The teenage suspect was cycling off with the device when the van’s 56-year-old owner gave chase and grabbed it back off him.
Police say the man had been delivering a parcel in Bury Road, Gosport when he spotted the youngster in his vehicle.
He gave chase and caught up with the thief at the Ann’s Hill Road junction and managed to wrestle the equipment back.
Det Con Jason Mann said police would like to hear from a team of firefighters in a fire engine at the road junction who may have witnessed the struggle. He is also asking a young girl who saw the incident to make herself known.
The suspect is described as white, aged about 16, with dark short hair and a skinny build.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, on October 21 at 3.35pm, should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
