HAMPSHIRE students will be getting a unique chance to get under the skin of pathology this week.
As part of National Pathology Week, starting today, pupils will be able to witness a virtual autopsy at Southampton General Hospital.
The event, part of a series of educational sessions, will see leading consultant Dr Meg Ashton-Key and colleagues use marker pens to represent incisions on a volunteers “dead” body.
They will see demonstrations of equipment used in the procedure, using animal organs to show how examinations are performed.
Schools interested in taking part in the virtual autopsy on Wednesday should call Sara Pender on 023 8079 4946.
