GOODWOOD has announced provisional dates for next year’s Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival – the hugely popular annual events that have drawn millions of fans over the years.

The dates have been announced now so that fans buying their tickets before the end of the year can beat the new year VAT rise, as well as for festive gifts.

But this year there is another bonus – until now while admission has been free for children aged 12 and under, those aged 13 and over have had to pay adult rates, making for an expensive family outing with a couple of teenagers.

But now those aged 13 to 18 inclusive will only pay half adult price – that’s £57 instead of £114 for the weekend package.

Patron the Earl of March says the 2011 Festival of Speed is provisionally – dependent on the Formula One World Championship calendar – scheduled to take place over the weekend of July 1-3, the same weekend that the world’s largest celebration of motoring culture has been held over the last two years. The 2011 Festival promises to be packed with action and excitement as the planet’s most glamorous racing machinery and famous drivers – including World Champions like Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and countless others – gather in the beautiful surroundings of Goodwood Park.

The Festival of Speed will be preceded on Thursday June 30 by Goodwood’s second Moving Motor Show, admission £19 adults (£9.50 for 13-18s).

This gives new car buyers and motoring enthusiasts the opportunity to see the very latest models up close, and in many cases drive them on a dedicated vehicle evaluation route within the grounds of the Goodwood Estate, which includes the famous festival hillclimb. For the festival, admission prices start at £36 (£18) for the Friday, with £52 (£26 for the teenagers) for both Saturday and Sunday. Roving grandstand seats for all ages are £85 for the weekend, and camping pitch with electricity is £196 for four people for four nights.

The unique Goodwood Revival is provisionally scheduled for September 16-18 next year. The Revival is truly a magical step back in time and celebrates the halcyon days of racing as it used to be with all of the accompanying spectacle and glamour of the era. Competitors and spectators alike dress in period fashions with the finest sights and entertainment of the pre-1966 era.

All the 2011 Goodwood motor sport events promise a spectacular array of cars and motorcycles, plus star drivers, riders and plenty of other fabulous attractions to thrill the crowds – but all tickets must be bought in advance.
