A PENSIONER killed when he was hit by a car as he crossed a Hampshire road has been named.
Roy Elderfield, 89, died in hospital after the collision with a Mitsubishi 4x4 on South Street, Gosport, at around 1pm on Saturday.
His widow Phyllis, to whom he was married for 69 years, said today: "Roy served in the Royal Navy for 32 years with several postings including three years in Singapore and two and a half years in Malta.
"He will be sadly missed by his wife, family and friends."
