THE countdown is on for a firework show that will set Southampton’s skyline ablaze with colour.
Thousands of people are expected to flock to the city’s Mayflower Park to see the Daily Echo-backed firework festivities tomorrow.
Organisers promise the event, which starts at 2pm with a family fun fair, will be bigger and better than ever.
Run by Southampton Round Table No 4 the explosive event will raise cash for a host of Hampshire charities.
The £10,000 display will be set off from a shipping barge from 7.15pm.
It costs £4 for adults and £2 for children on the gates. Children under three go free. Tickets can be bought in advance from the Daily Echo shop in Hanover Buildings or Southampton Tourist Information Office.
