VOLUNTEERS are hoping for a bumper festive season as Winchester’s Christmas charity card shop moves to a new home.
It has been in half a dozen places since it was launched in the mid-1980s, but organisers hope that they now have the ideal spot.
This year’s shop was opened by the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Richard Izard.
It is based in 1871, the new café at the city’s guildhall in The Broadway.
The venue – named after the year when work on the building started – opened four months ago in the former Saxon Suite.
The shop will be open every day until Thursday, December 16, except Sundays, from 10am to 4.30pm.
