DETECTIVES are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing Southampton man.
Jason Verge, 23, has not made contact with friends and family for several days.
He was last seen by a friend on Wednesday October 20.
Mr Verge has no fixed address but had been staying at various locations across Southampton, most recently at a property in Bellevue Road. Police say Jason’s disappearance is totally out of character.
He suffers from myotonic dystrophy – a muscular condition which causes his muscles to seize - and is registered disabled.
He has also suffered from depression in the past and it is not known whether he has any money.
Detective Inspector Becky Riggs of Shirley CID, said: “We are worried about Jason and would urge him to come forward, contact his family or the police and let us know he is safe and well.
“We know that he was meant to have visited his girlfriend on October 20 in the evening but failed to turn up and this is highly unusual. If you have seen Jason or know where he is then please contact police urgently.”
Mr Verge is described as white, with short brown hair and small rounded glasses.
He was last seen wearing blue stonewash jeans, black trainers which are falling to pieces, a white tracksuit jumper and a black leather jacket.
Anyone with any information can contact Shirley CID on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
