POLITICIANS scaled new heights as they pitched in to help a Scout volunteer recruitment drive.
Councillors Chris Thomas and the appropriately named Peter Wall conquered a ten-metre rockface erected in the centre of Eastleigh.
This stunt was arranged by the town’s Scouts, whose numbers are soaring with members up by almost ten per cent this year compared to a national rate of five.
To cope with demand the organisation needs more adults to help with administration, adventure activities and maintenance.
