MORE than 20 firefighters tackled fires at a Hampshire prison last night, after an inmate twice set his cell ablaze.
The fires broke out in the segregation unit at Winchester Prison at 7.15pm and then again at 9.55pm.
Two appliances were sent from Winchester Fire Station, while another appliance and a Land Rover joined them from Eastleigh, totalling 22 men.
The fires took about an hour each to put out by hose, but the cell contents were badly damaged.
