A NEW boarding house has been opened for pupils at a Hampshire school for children with learning difficulties.
Romsey and Southampton North MP Caroline Nokes officially unveiled the state-of-the-art facility for sixth-formers at Stanbridge Earls School, near Romsey.
New House provides accommodation for 39 students, complete with individual en suite rooms, an open plan kitchen, two lounges and a dedicated study room, which is fully equipped with assistive technology to help young people with their work.
Stanbridge Earls takes 10- to 19-year-olds with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and mild Asperger’s Syndrome.
The school is currently running a two-year trial with Oxford University to see how technology can be used to benefit young people with those specific difficulties.
