A £10,000 reward is being offered to find the killers of a man on Southampton common a year ago.

Nigel Price died from his injuries several months later and a murder investigation was launched.

The 58-year-old was discovered part way in some bushes and partially clothed with severe head injuries by a member of the public on The Common just after 7.30am on Saturday, November 14 last year.

The injuries left him in a critical condition and he died at Southampton General Hospital on March 23.

A post mortem confirmed he died of the delayed effects of the head injuries he received when he was attacked on The Common and a murder inquiry was launched.

Detectives are still determined to find those responsible.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Snuggs is the officer leading the investigation.

He said, “This weekend we will have additional police officers in place on the Common, including specially trained Lesbian and Gay Liaison staff, helping us to identify witnesses who were either in the area at the same time last year or have since heard from others about what happened to Nigel.

"Any information you provide will be treated sensitively regardless of the reason for your visit to the Common.”

He added: "I am particularly keen to trace two men who were seen just after 7am on 14 November.

"They were running towards the reservoir on the eastern side of The Common.

"Both men had white skin, one was in his early 30s, 6ft tall with a slight build but muscular. He had short, light coloured hair and wore a lightweight, dark coloured anorak over dark jeans.

"The shorter man was also in his early 30s, about 5ft 8 inches tall, darker hair wearing a lightweight dark coloured anorak over dark jeans.”
