A NUCLEAR-powered submarine has had to postpone its visit to Southampton because of the weather.
Royal Navy vessel HMS Torbay was due to make a five-day trip to the city, berthing at Eastern Docks.
But severe gales at her home port in Plymouth yesterday meant it wasn’t safe for the submarine to leave.
Hundreds of sea cadets, scouts and other youngsters are due onboard HMS Torbay during the visit for a rare tour.
Organisers now hope the submarine will be able to leave later today.
