AN INVESTIGATION was continuing today after the body of a young woman was found in a ditch in Hampshire.

Elizabeth Neilson was found at the side of Undershore Road in Lymington at around 1.30pm on Friday.

The 32-year-old is understood to have been out shopping and was walking along the road when she collapsed.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene but the 32-year-old was pronounced dead.

Detectives from Hampshire’s major crime department launched an inquiry following the discovery of Miss Neilson’s body.

However, a post-mortem examination carried out on Saturday morning revealed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

The cause of her death is still undetermined and it is believed further tests will have to be conducted.

Miss Neilson is understood to have lived in Lymington with her partner. Her family come from Liverpool and travelled to Hampshire on Saturday to identify her body.

Files are now being prepared for the coroner and an inquest is expected to be opened in coming days.
