Flood-hit city library reopens
SOUTHAMPTON Central Library lending area reopened yesterday morning after flooding during last week’s torrential downpours.
Security staff noticed water leaking from the city centre library’s roof into the main service area and the floor below on Thursday at about 6am.
Management closed the area because of health and safety fears over water damaged electrics.
No books or electronic equipment were damaged and library fines will be wavered for books due during the closure period.
