A NORTH Baddesley woman has handed over cash to a charity that helped support a friend whose son had cancer.
Cheryl Nicholls, 46, a product manager at HSBC Bank in Southampton, won the company’s Local Hero Award 2010 for all the work she put into a special project for the bank.
She was one of only four HSBC employees in the UK to receive the award and Cheryl has donated the £5,000 she received to a local charity.
Clic Sargent provides self-catering accommodation for parents of children receiving cancer treatment at Southampton General Hospital. Ten-year-old Ashley Stickland was a patient in the Piam Brown cancer ward in 2007. He had Hodgkin’s lymphoma and has since made a remarkable recovery. Ashley was at the cheque handover in Southampton with his mum and dad Tracey and Richard Stickland.
