SCORES of fitness enthusiasts got in a spin to help raise cash in memory of a Hampshire hero.
Arthur Platt, a former shift manager at Totton Health and Leisure Centre, was killed when he collided with a car while cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End in aid of the Daily Echo-backed Help for Heroes appeal.
Around 200 people, including former Saints stars Francis Benali and Jo Tessem, and Hampshire cricketer Nick Pothas, took part in the Big Spin Challenge at the leisure centre to carry on the 37-year-old’s good work and make more money for the charity.
Organisers hope to have raised several thousands of pounds for the appeal, and are already looking to organise an even bigger event next year.
