WALKERS are inviting the public to put their best foot forward to celebrate a rambling mile-stone.
The Southampton Ramblers are holding a 75th Anniversary Walk, taking in the sights and sounds around Southampton Common, tomorrow from 10.30am.
Walkers should meet at the white barrier at the junction of The Avenue and Northlands Road to participate in one lap around the Common, which should take up to an hour.
This walk is being held to celebrate 75 years as Britain’s walking charity and to encourage more people to take up the activity.
All ages and abilities are welcome and refreshments will be available afterwards at the Hawthorns Nature Study Centre.
The group organises several walks each week, ranging from a leisurely three miles up to a more challenging 16 or 17 miles.
