British rockers Kasabian were last night were this morning confirmed as the final headline act for next year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

The band, fronted by Tom Meighan, would take to the stage for the prestigious Sunday night headline slot.

If confirmed, the Leicestershire-based band will join the Kings of Leon, The Foo Fighters and the newly reformed Pulp for the event, at Seaclose Park, Newport, which runs from Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12.

Kasabian have released three studio albums over a career spanning 11 years with their latest, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, reaching number one in the UK charts. The three-time NME Award-winners’ back catalogue includes the well-known singles Club Foot, Empire and Fire.
