THIS little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed at home – and this large white piggy did not know where she was going when she was caught by an agister on the edge of the Hampshire border.
But her owner had better act fast to claim her, as her foster family – who have named her “Peppa Pig” – are fast becoming attached to her.
A member of the public rang the Verderers to complain that a pig was rooting and causing damage to the Forest at Nomansland and had been in the area since the spring.
Verderer Jeff Kitcher, 67, took the pig in and says his grandchildren are becoming very attached to her.
He said: “ She’s no problem whatsoever – the kids call her Peppa Pig and if someone claims her no doubt I’ll have to find them a replacement pig somewhere or other.
“They rub her down and she grunts just like she’s talking to you.”
Clerk to the Verderers Sue Westwood said: “We do need to try to find out if someone does wish to claim her before we decide what to do with her.”
