HE is off to the Culinary World Cup!
Allen Townsend, head chef at The Rose Bowl, is in Luxembourg for the competition, which includes chefs from 28 countries.
“I feel immensely privileged to be asked to represent my country at the world’s largest international culinary competition,” said the 46-year-old, who has to prepare a five-course gourmet and a three-course vegetarian meal. “I’m looking forward to testing my skills against the best and representing Hampshire to the best of my ability on the world stage.”
Allen, formerly head chef at Goodwood racecourse, won silver at the World Culinary Olympics in Germany two years ago.
