A graduate has been crowned queen of the student airwaves.
Mel Lewis was named best female presenter at the prestigious annual Student Radio Awards.
In front of many big names from the radio industry, she picked up her award from her idol, Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, at a glitzy ceremony in London, hosted by Fearne Cotton and Greg James.
Mel, who has a journalism BA and a masters degree in PR from Southampton Solent University, impressed judges including Radio 1 controller Andy Parfitt and DJ Steve Lamacq with her weekly show at student station Radio Sonar.
The prize has also landed her a one-off show on Radio 1.
