A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl severely injured after she was hit by a bus was last night said to be ‘improving’ in hospital.
The girl, Davinia Lawes, suffered head injuries when she was in collision with a single decker bus on Knightwood Road in Chandler’s Ford on Thursday afternoon.
She fell from her toy scooter into the path of the bus while walking home from Knightwood Primary School with her mother at about 3.20pm.
A spokeswoman at Southampton General Hospital said Davinia was “improving. She is out of intensive care.”
The 50-year-old bus driver, from Hedge End, was uninjured in the collision.
The police have appealed for witnesses to contact acting Sgt David Dyer at Totton roads policing unit on 101.
