A SCHOOL has been forced to shut after its basement flooded.
Mount Pleasant Junior School, in Mount Pleasant Road, will close for two days from tomorrow because water is seeping from an unknown source and a damp smell is emanating through the building.
The decision was made after Southampton City Council Environmental Health inspected the site and said the water needed to be pumped out.
Head teacher Rob Griffiths said: "But we can't do that with the children in the school so we need to close for two days."
The school will reopen on Friday.
