infectionAN ELDERLY woman died in hospital five days after a fall at her Hampshire home.
Eileen Richardson, 88, of Carrington Close, Milford on Sea, screamed out to wake up her son Paul Wallis when she fell in the bathroom of their bungalow early in the morning and her walking frame toppled on top of her.
Mrs Richardson, who suffered from poor health including dementia and failing eyesight, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with a hip injury and had an operation. But she died on April 27 after picking up a chest infection.
Coroner Keith Wiseman said her death was caused by the fall and recorded a verdict of accidental death.
