A SOUTHAMPTON project has lost out on a £50,000 worth of grant funding to a south coast rival.
Daisy Dip Park, in Basset, lost out to a Hayling Island climbing wall plan after a public vote on ITV Meridian as part of The People’s Millions giveaway. Jim Cappleman, chairman of the Flower Roads Residents’ and Tenants’ Association, said: “Congratulations to Hayling Island. But we hope this is not the final curtain for our project.”
On Friday all the public votes are totted up for those who lost out this week. The one with the most stands to win £50,000. The Daisy Dip project proposes a multi-use games area for sports activities, skateboard park, model car racing track and picnic areas.
