A CITY PARK will get the make over it needs after residents were presented with a cheque for £50,000 today.
Daisy Dip, in Bassett Green, Southampton was choosen after residents entered the 'Enhance Daisy Dip' plans to appear on ITV Meridian as part of The People's Millions - programme where the public vote for a local project they wish to support.
The plans will see the park transform into a games area for sports activities, skate boarding and BMX biking.
Southampton City Council has agreed to match the £50,000 sum, meaning the area can be further developed with new picnic benches and park furniture.
Jim Cappleman, chairman for the Flower Roads Resident and Tenant Association, said: "This is an area of deprivation. The kids have nothing to do so it was about bringing something back into the area for the kids."
