AN arson investigation has been launched after a fire at a Hampshire home in the early hours of this morning.

The blaze ripped through an outbuilding at the semi-detached property in Barnfield Road, Weston, before spreading to the exterior of the house.

Two teams from Hightown fire station were called to the scene at around 2.51am and spent nearly two hours dampening the flames.

A spokesman from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said that the damage caused by the blaze was “not considerable”.

It is still unclear how the fire was started, but this morning police and specialist arson investigators were continuing to examine the scene.
